Azure Community Wireless Broadband offers a whole range of benefits to subscribers.
Apart from access to 'always on' unlimited high speed internet access - vital when the alternative in many communities is a slow and unreliable dial up - we also provide a number of other attractive features.
Follow links in the text to find out more about the services offered, and the technology we use to bring them it to you.
Send us an e-mail if you want us to consider your community for service.
Azure Broadband is currently planning installations in a number of villages in the South of France, and will look for opportunities to expand this service in other regions and countries.
Typical Service prices:
An initial charge of Euro 200 covers the installation and configuration of your WLAN receiver/antenna - this is a small box which is fitted somewhere on your house (usually on the roof) and connects you to the service.
A monthly subscription covers your service and varies between Euro 10 & Euro 40 per month depending on the type of subscription you opt for.
  A monthly subscription brings you:
  • Full unlimited Internet Access
  • E-Mail (you can set your email program to check as often as you wish)
  • FTP - file downloads & uploads - large files, photos etc., fast and easily
  • Voice over IP - cut out those overseas phone charges
  • Video and Audio Streaming
  • Networked Games - with others in your community or on the internet
  • File sharing within your community
  • Community Advertising and Services
  • Community Forums

About Satellite Internet

Satellite Internet is faster than ADSL because there is no fixed contention ratio.
ADSL connections are shared between 20 to 50 subscribers. With satellite, the bandwidth is varied automatically to meet demand, and very low contention is achieved.
In each community a satellite up/down link is installed which feeds a range of servers configured to administer accounts, access rights, provide e-mailing, web services and to control and monitor the wireless local network.
The wireless network connects all subscribers to the service via small antennae on subscriber's roof, or laptop computers via wireless hot-spots.
